    Diane Simmons is the author of seven books. Her first novel, Let the Bastards Freeze in the Dark, was published by Wyndham Books/Simon and Schuster. She is also the author of the prize-winning historical novel, Dreams Like Thunder (in production to be re-issued by Red Hen Press), and the prize-winning short story collection, Little America. Her recent work of historical non-fiction, The Courtship of Eva Eldridge was published by the University of Iowa press. She has published numerous short stories and essays; she was runner-up for the Missouri Review Editor’s Prize and winner of the Fish Anthology Essay prize (Ireland).   1. Great conference. My group leader, Paula Munier, was terrific. Former editor, writer and agent, she knows everything and, with generosity and good humor, worked incredibly hard to share her knowledge with us writers. I don't know when I've learned so much in four days. The real deal for commercial publishing. And what you learn will probably also help with small and university presses as well. Just: can somebody take control of the conference website and highly confusing pre-conference communication?
